Coinbase, recognized by most as the most secure platform for trading Bitcoin, Ether, and Litecoin, confirmed that they will be implementing Segregated Witness (SegWit) in 2018. In a blog post written by Dan Romero, Vice President and GM of Coinbase, on December 15, 2017, Coinbase confirmed that they are planning to implement Segregated Witness in 2018. It should be noted that the SegWit upgrade is different from the Bitcoin SegWit2x proposal. The main difference is that the SegWit2x proposed to first activate Segregated Witness and then create a 2 MB (increase the block sized to 2 MB from 1 MB) hard fork within six months. The Coinbase implentation will not include this physical block size doubling.
